Maruti Suzuki has launched the Jimny 5-door at the Auto Expo 2023. India will be the first market where the Jimny 5-door will go on sale by mid-2023. After this, the company will also make this car available for sale in other global markets. The Jimny 5-Door will be built in India at the Gurugram plant and will gradually be exported to other markets as well. Maruti has also started booking the Jimny in India.. Like its 3-door sibling, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door will also come powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that is likely to put out 103 HP and 138 Nm of torque. Now, a company focusing on 3-door variants to export internationally only and the 5-door variant will be launched in May of 2023 in the country, confirmed by fresh media reports. The car comes under the off-road category and will compete with Mahindra Thar, Force Gurkha and Ford EcoSport. Maruti Jimny 5-door will also be sold under the NEXA flagship dealers. Jimny has replaced the Gypsy which was a classic vehicle in the ’90s and very popular car in that era. Before going to Jimny we would also like to inform you that it is a rename car with the same engine which belongs to Gypsy with some unique design up-dation.
Customers interested in buying the Maruti Jimny 5 Door can book it by visiting the company’s official website or visit the nearest Maruti Suzuki dealership. The company has fixed a token amount of Rs 11,000 for booking this off-road SUV, which is refundable.
The Suzuki Jimny is powered by a 1.5-litre, inline-4, naturally aspirated petrol engine. This motor is capable of generating a peak power of 101 HP and a maximum torque of 130 Nm, and transmission options consist of a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The car also gets Suzuki All Grip part-time AWD system with a low-ratio transfer case.
The front fascia of the rendered Maruti Jimny looks more rugged than its 3-door version. The SUV carries a black bodyguard on the radiator grille and the round fog lamps have been replaced with sleek stripes. The vehicle also gets a revised bonnet. The 5-door Jimny will be based on a longer wheelbase than the 3-door model and have more cabin space to offer. The bigger Jimny has a C-pillar along with revised rear bumper and taillamps. The tailgate-mounted spare wheel has also been removed. From the Inside, The new Jimny’s cabin is way modern and feature-loaded than the previous model. It gets an all-black interior scheme with modern features like a Smart Play touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
