Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Review – On Road Comfort & Off-Road Capability, Manual vs Automatic

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny has gained popularity worldwide due to its off-road capabilities, compact size, and distinctive retro-design. It features a boxy shape, short overhangs, and a high ground clearance, making it suitable for navigating through challenging terrains.

While the 3-door Jimny was introduced globally in 2018, the Jimny makes its India debut as a 5-door SUV while retaining most of its core DNA from the 3-door car. It’s a ladder-frame SUV with power primarily driven to the rear wheels. However, it does get 4×4 with 4H and 4-low via a low-range transfer case that can be chosen with a manual or automatic gearbox. Even in this new, more family-friendly configuration, the Jimny is still a compact and lightweight car.
