2023 Maruti Jimny 5 Door Fully Leaked During TVC Shoot | 9 Inch Touchscreen, 4X4 @ Agressive Pricing

Maruti Suzuki will officially unveil the Jimny 5 door at the 2023 Auto Expo, which will be hosted next month. The much awaited compact offroader SUV is expected to go on sale before mid 2023.

The new Jimny 5 door was spotted in Leh, Ladakh region, during a TVC shoot without camouflage. Seen in ‘Kinetic Yellow’ exterior paint shade, the Jimny 5-door clearly is much longer than its 3-door version. Will gain 300mm more wheelbase at 2550mm, while the 3 door version stands at 2250mm wheelbase.

Additional doors for the second row blends perfectly with the overall boxy silhouette. Also the rear door window gets two piece structure,out of them, one will be fixed glass panel, due to the intrusion of the large wheel arch.

The added length also gains a new quarter fixed glass panel, thus improving the airiness inside. The Jimny 5-door gets no major styling changes at the back, and carries the same side opening door with exposed hinges, a door-mounted spare tyre with black covering, and the same rear bumper and tail-lamp design as the 3-door Jimny. The same way, no visible changes expected to front design as well, except a possible addition of LED headlamps.

The cabin will carry forward the utilitarian approach with needed features like 9 inch infotainment from baleno and grand vitara. No clear information on seating layout, but a 7 seater option is also likely, though the comfort for third row occupants will be largely compromised. It will only be offered with a hard top, Unlike mahindra Thar which also gets a convertible option.

Powering the Maruti Suzuki in India, will be the K15B naturally aspirated 1.5 litre petrol engine, which kicks out 104PS and 138 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual is offered along with a 4X4 transfer case, An automatic could be on the shelves too.

While the Jimny 5-door’s trial production is expected to take place in the coming weeks, india launch is only expected to take place by mid-2023.
