It was transformed from a passenger vehicle into a freight transporter. Do you want to know?
One of Jimny’s selling points is how versatile the vehicle is. A common aesthetic modification for the Suzuki Jimny is to transform it into a powerful SUV.
But what if the Suzuki Jimny were redesigned to resemble a pickup truck with two cabins?
this model is based on a Suzuki Jimny with five doors. In order to make this design a reality, the body and wheelbase were lengthened. The regular version also has a far shorter rear overhang. The length of the five-door Jimny is 3,985 mm, just so you know.
Protruding taillights and a rear bumper with integrated steps are design cues from the Jeep Gladiator, which is evident in the tailgate. Then, the distinctive Suzuki lettering was affixed to the back door.
Although the exterior is mostly unaltered, flared fender extensions have been used to modify the rear doors so that they do not obstruct the wheel arches. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been much of a change to the fascia or face.
This little off-roader has been the basis for numerous real-life and virtual pick-up adaptations since the 2018 arrival of the fourth-generation Suzuki Jimny. But the Japanese automaker wasn’t involved in any of them. Still, a more potent powertrain is obviously required if Suzuki intends to introduce a Jimny with a double cabin pick-up.
The current standard engine for the Suzuki Jimny is a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that generates 103 horsepower and 134 Newton-meters of torque. As a double cabin pick-up engine, the engine specs are definitely lacking.
At the Tokyo Auto Show, Suzuki will showcase not one but two Jimny concepts: the Survive SUV and Sierra Pickup truck, in addition to the Swift Sport Yellow Rev model.
On exhibit is the Jimny Sierra truck, which, despite its diminutive stature, proves to be an off-road warrior thanks to its wooden side panels.
The front fascia, often adorned with a five-line grille, now has a more vintage appearance thanks to an open design that features the words “Suzuki”. Additional features of this variant include higher ground clearance, off-road tires, and broader fenders.
The Jimny Sierra has four LED lighting for better visibility in low light.
By adjusting the vehicle’s height and adding slightly knobby tires, Jimny Survive modifies the regular Jimny foundation. Those who are truly passionate about off-roading will love Survive.
A steel bumper featuring an integrated winch and tow hook adorns the front of the Jimny Survive. Additionally, there are headlight guards and plate steel on the front and back fenders for extra safety and good looks.
